Lynn Beyak an affront to residential schools survivors

Readers can go to Senator Beyak's website and make up their own minds. Beyak sets out her views very thoughtfully and with a wealth of supporting letters and documentation, much of this from Indigenous community members, former school workers and students.

Senator Beyak has lived for several decades in one of the most heavily "Indigenous" areas of Canada and as neighbour and employer has developed many contacts within her community.

Given the entrenched special interests on all sides on these issues, Senator Beyak's views may well be unwelcome. But they are certainly not "racist". Racists seek to divide and build walls between people. Beyak, rather, envisions Canada as more all-embracing, bringing our peoples closer together, sharing fully in all that our country has to offer.
