Senator Hope you are doing well.

Your comments are absolutely correct. In a visit to the Anglican church museum in whitehorse last June the contributions that the Anglican church made are clear.it was the same people schooled in medicine that hoped to improve standards for children. I know my own perspective on what children need has changed a lot, and i'm sure yours has too.

Chrisyian values of love and understanding were at the heart of the church and the residential schools. However we think they failed. I visited a friend's catholic residential school in Hearst in the 60's and was frightened. It was terrible but the highest standing in the community went there. And my office in St John's NL overlooked the boys school there. There were some terrible things happening to all children but the whitehorse Anglican museum reconfirmed my faith.

Best of luck

Judy
