Dear Senator,

Thank God Senators are not elected. It is good to have someone in Ottawa with the freedom and the guts to tell the truth and ask the right questions. I believe in equality for all Canadians. I cannot read the minds of those who lived many years ago and came up with the idea of residential schools, but logic would tell me that they seen the poverty and conditions of the reserves and thought the best way to help those people to better their lives was through education. It is easy to look back and say some mistakes were made, but many benefited from that education. Neither do I see the logic in asking today's leaders to apologize for decision make by leaders many years ago.

And, I absolutely agree that reservation leaders should be held accountable for the tax payers money that goes into these reserves. It is obvious from the stories we hear of what chiefs and counsellors pay themselves that the money is not distributed fairly.

Keep up the good work

Owen
