Residential Schools and the plight of Aboriginal People in Canada

Dear Senator Beyak:

I applaud you for your speech to the Senate Committee which I have read, and your refusal to leave the committee. There are negative and positive results of Residential Schools as well as the conditions of living in Canada today for Indigenous people.

We must not judge past intentions and behaviours using today’s standards. We must forgive and get on with improving the living conditions for all Indigenous people. A proper audit and disclosure of funds will help us to move forward with this issue.

I Thank you for your service and for standing up for what you believe is right in spite of attempts by others to muzzle your right to freedom of speech.
